INVITATION FOR QUOTATION TO UNDERTAKE AN INDEPENDENT ROAD SAFETY AUDIT CLOSING DATE (AT 11:00): Friday, 20 September 2024 SNA Civil and Structural Engineers (Pty) Ltd was appointed by the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) for the Consulting Engineering Services for the Capacity and Pavement Upgrade of Mariannhill Toll Plaza on National Road 3, Section 1, km 26.02 to km 26.40. The Toll Plaza falls within the eThekwini Municipality boundaries. The major aspects of this project include the following: • Reconfiguration of the toll plaza, additional lanes and lane infrastructure (booms, canopy, signage, gantries, toll systems hardware etc.), • Upgrade/replacement/refurbishment of existing lane infrastructure (booms, canopy, signage, gantries, toll systems hardware etc.), • Upgrade/replacement/additional electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment, • Construction of underground or overhead access for staff and toll collectors (tunnel, bridge etc.), • Street lighting, • Upgrade of existing pavement on the approaches, • Upgrade/refurbishment of building infrastructure such as the Control Centre and Customer Service Centre (CSC), • The full extent of the project will exceed the existing 380m section length noted, but the total length will remain less than 1km. A Road Safety Audit is therefore required for the capacity and pavement upgrade of the Mariannhill toll plaza on National Route 3, Section 1, km 26.02 – km 26.40. Firms with road safety and traffic engineering experience are therefore invited to submit a quote to undertake an independent Road Safety Audit. A clarification meeting will not be held, but it is essential that prospective tenderers familiarise themselves with the site. QUOTATION DOCUMENTS Quotation documents are available at no cost in electronic format downloaded from the SANRAL’s website. Tenderers must have access to Microsoft © Office 2013 and Acrobat Adobe © 9.0 or similar compatible software. Tenderers must submit, via email, the duly completed Form A1.1 Certificate of Intention to Submit a Tender prior to 7 (seven) days post the tender advertisement date. Failure to submit this certificate would result in the tenderer not receiving addenda or additional issued information and may result in the tenderer being non[1]responsive, if “any material amendment/s” contained in the addenda or additional information is not included in the tender offer/submission. COMPLETION AND DELIVERY OF QUOTATIONS The closing time and date for submission of quotations is 11h00 on Friday, 20 September 2024. Only quotation offers submitted electronically on CD / flash drive and delivered to the address specified in the Tender Data will be accepted. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, e-mail, facsimile and late tenders will not be accepted. Quotations may only be submitted in the format as stated in the Quotation Data.
